Mega Sports Event – DC Thapar Trophy
Lucknow, 3 January 2026: A Mega Sports Event for architects and building industry professionals, titled DC Thapar Trophy, was formally launched today. The event will be held on 4th January at the BBD University Stadium, Lucknow.
Eight teams will compete in a cricket tournament for the prestigious DC Thapar Trophy. In addition to cricket, several indoor games including table tennis, chess, carrom, and sudoku will also be organised.
More than 500 architects and professionals from the building industry are expected to participate in this multi-sport event, making it one of the largest sporting gatherings of professionals in the region.
The event is being organised under the leadership of Chairman, Organising Committee – Ar. Keshav Kumar and Ar. Ajay Behl.
A total of seven professional associations are participating in this mega event:
1. Lucknow Architects Association (LAA)
2. Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) – UP Chapter
3. Indian Institute of Interior Designers (IIID) – Lucknow Regional Chapter
4. Institute of Town Planners, India (ITPI)
5. Indian Plumbing Association (IPA)
6. Young Architects Club Association (YACA)
7. Forum of Women Architects (FWA)
Present at the launch ceremony were Ar. Prashant Pal Singh, President, Lucknow Architects Association, along with Ar. Ripunjay Patel, Ar. Devesh Mani, Ar. Asutosh Verma, Ar. Awanish, Ar. Aviral, Ar. Vishal, and Ar. Sandeep Ar Anoop Srivastava Ar Pushpendra Kumar
The event aims to promote sportsmanship, professional bonding, and unity among architects and allied professionals beyond the workplace.
