to advance safer mobility

· Inaugurates its 7th Road Safety Lab in India, as part of Safer Roads initiative

· Over 80,000 beneficiaries reached nationwide

· Lucknow Road Safety Lab will enable over 15,000 beneficiaries annually

 

Lucknow, June 02, 2026: AB InBev India, in partnership with BharatCares and the Uttar Pradesh Road Transport Department, inaugurated its seventh Road Safety Lab at the Lucknow Regional Transport Office (RTO), Transport Nagar. The facility was inaugurated by Dr. Adarsh Singh, Excise Commissioner, Uttar Pradesh.

The Road Safety Lab, which is a part of AB InBev’s global Safer Roads initiative, is designed to promote safer road behaviour through immersive, technology-enabled learning experiences. It aims to strengthen awareness among road users by addressing key risk factors such as drunk driving, over speeding, reckless driving, non-use of helmets and seatbelts, and non-adherence to traffic regulations, and will reach over 15,000 beneficiaries annually.

The initiative also reinforces AB InBev India’s commitment to improving road safety outcomes and supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including the target of halving road traffic deaths and injuries by 2030.

Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Adarsh Singh, Excise Commissioner, Uttar Pradesh, said:
“The inauguration of the Road Safety Lab at Lucknow RTO marks an important step towards strengthening road safety awareness among new and existing drivers. AB InBev India’sRoads Safety Lab in Lucknow supports the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh’s efforts to embed responsible driving practices at the grassroots level and improve overall compliance with road safety norms across the state.”

At the Lucknow Road Safety Lab, all new driving license applicants will undergo a mandatory 30-minute interactive module featuring video-based learning, real-life driving simulations, and behavioural assessments – designed to instill safe driving habits early and improve compliance with road safety norms. Built as a scalable and sustainable model, this initiative leverages digital innovation, local language customization, and integration with government licensing systems to enable wider replication across states and deliver long-term improvements in road safety outcomes.

With the addition of Lucknow, AB InBev India’s Road Safety Lab network now spans seven locations across the country, including centres in Karnataka and Maharashtra, and has already reached over 80,000 beneficiaries.

Road safety remains a focus area for AB InBev globally, with the company currently implementing road safety programs across 34 countries.
