DC Thapar Trophy: Mega Sporting Event of Architects Concludes Successfully
Lucknow 4th January 2026: A Mega Sporting Event of Architects, titled the DC Thapar Trophy, was successfully organised at the BBD University Stadium, Lucknow, on 4th January, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
More than 500 architects and building industry professionals participated in this day-long sporting extravaganza. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from seven professional organisations, spearheaded by the Lucknow Architects Association (LAA). The participating organisations were:
• Lucknow Architects Association (LAA)
• Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) – UP Chapter
• Institute of Town Planners, India (ITPI) – UP Chapter
• Indian Institute of Interior Designers (IIID) – Lucknow Regional Chapter
• Young Architects Club Association (YACA)
• Indian Plumbing Association (IPA) – UP Chapter
• Forum of Women Architects (FWA)
In the cricket tournament, IIA UP Chapter emerged as the winner under the captaincy of Ar. Shubendra Vajpayee. The Women’s Team, headed by Ar. Vipul Varshney, won the women’s competition, while the runner-up team was captained by Ar. Sabina Singh.
Along with cricket, competitive matches in table tennis, chess, carrom, and sudoku were also organised, adding to the vibrancy of the event.
The event was successfully organised under the leadership of Ar. Keshav Kumar, Organising Secretary. The office bearers of Lucknow Architects Association played an active role in the successful execution of the event:

The award ceremony was held in the evening at the Renaissance Hotel, Lucknow. The event concluded on a high note, with the organisers announcing a return next year with an even bigger and better sporting event.
