Nissan TEKTON Demonstrates Unmistakable Capability, Enters India Book of Records
Celebrating 75 years of Nissan SUV heritage, 60 all-new Nissan TEKTON premium SUVs complete a five-day, 700+ km Himalayan capability drive, creating an India Book of Records milestone
Gurugram, August 04, 2026: Reinforcing 75 years of Nissan SUV Excellence with a landmark automotive capability demonstration, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL) has secured an India Book of Records title for the official record of the “largest convoy of a single-model four-wheeler to reach Leh” A convoy of 60 all-new Nissan TEKTON premium SUVs successfully completed a five-day Himalayan expedition covering more than 700 km, ascending from Chandigarh at 1,053 feet to Shinku La Pass at 16,703 feet, to Leh at 11,480 feet. The expedition demonstrated the capability, durability and engineering strength of Nissan’s newest premium SUV.
The record-setting expedition took the all-new Nissan TEKTON across highways and mountain passes, through changing weather conditions and over high-altitude terrain. Beyond marking a significant achievement, the expedition demonstrated how the TEKTON performs in demanding real-world driving conditions starting from Chandigarh – Manali – Zangla Via Shinku La and culminating in Leh. The TEKTON convoy was driven by media personnel and Industry experts through the course of the route.

The India Book of Records recognition reinforces Nissan’s long-standing SUV legacy while highlighting the all-new TEKTON’s ability to perform across diverse and demanding terrains. Inspired by Nissan’s iconic Patrol, the premium SUV combines bold design, Japanese craftsmanship, advanced safety technologies, Google built-in with access to more than 200 apps through Google Play, and a 100% turbocharged engine line-up. The 60-Tekton convoy was driven by industry experts and media fraternity all through the route.
